Take for example the simple act of choosing a commercial breakfast cereal to start your day. You think you are doing the right thing because they advertise high in fibre, low in sugar, high in iron, low in fat and the list goes on. But how often do you actually stop to look at what exactly it is that you are consuming? There is sugar, preservatives, salt, starch, emulsifiers and that’s just the beginning.

But I hear you, you love to start your day with cereal, yoghurt and a sliced banana? So why not take the option of making your own and knowing exactly what’s in it. Sure it might take a few extra minutes than if you just pop to coles and pick your cereal off the shelf, but I guarantee it’s a lot yummier and healthier than the store bought options.
